As a Fulani man, can you be trusted to be fair in a farmer-herder dispute?
My plan treats violent crimes as criminal acts regardless of ethnicity. That is the standard I hold myself to. For resolving disputes, I am setting up Community Peace and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committees made up of traditional leaders, farming representatives, and herder associations, so disputes over crops, grazing and land are resolved transparently, by all sides at the table. I am also moving Nigeria from open grazing to modern livestock management, with designated corridors, water points and veterinary services, so herders can raise livestock without destroying farmers' crops. Intelligence work will sit with federal agencies, policing with states, and early-warning dispute resolution with community authorities.
