Answer: My strategy is to build master drainage systems in flood-prone areas, modernize municipal solid waste recycling, and channel Ecological Fund resources directly into local erosion control and sanitation programmes. Q12: Many communities depend on wells that dry up during the dry season. What is your plan for sustainable year-round water supply, particularly in rural areas? Answer: My administration will focus on deep-aquifer drilling, rainwater harvesting infrastructure, and small earth dams to store water for year-round domestic and agricultural use. Q13: We don't have reliable electricity in our community despite having poles and repeated promises. How will you make sure electricity actually reaches underserved communities? Answer: My plan is to move power distribution and generation off the exclusive federal list, empowering states and off-grid developers to directly connect and supply electricity to underserved areas.

Q44: Oil spills and pollution have destroyed farms, fishing and livelihoods in Niger Delta communities. How will you clean up affected areas, compensate communities and hold responsible oil companies accountable? Answer: My administration will accelerate the Ogoni cleanup, strictly enforce environmental restoration across all oil-producing areas, and apply strict "polluter pays" legal liabilities to non- compliant oil majors. Q45: Flooding and erosion are destroying farms, roads and homes in many communities. What is your national plan for managing these environmental and climate-related risks? Answer: My plan executes a National Flood and Erosion Management Plan that dredges the River Niger and River Benue, manages dam releases systematically, and directs the Ecological Fund straight to vulnerable communities. Q46: Illegal mining is polluting rivers and destroying farmland.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of adversely impacted by the tragic flooding that led to the loss of no less than 21 persons, several missing and thousands displaced in Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa communities in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State. Media reports indicate that the extent of the destruction; homes, farmlands, schools, and vital infrastructure is dire. The tragic situation in Mokwa serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive and proactive flood management strategies across the country, especially with the forecasts of more flooding in the rainy season, which is just beginning. I commend the efforts of emergency responders and urge both state and federal authorities to intensify relief efforts and implement sustainable solutions to prevent such tragedies in the future. I stand in solidarity with the people of Niger State, especially those mourning loved ones. May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may those who are still missing be found and be reunited with their families. -AA

From Benue to Niger and most recently Kwara, the entire North Central region has endured some of the most horrific waves of violence in recent history. Yet, not once has the APC-led government deemed it necessary to physically stand by the victims or console their families. Even when Tinubu made a symbolic visit to Benue State in June, he never bothered to set foot in Yelewata, the epicentre of the massacre. Instead, he ended his trip comfortably in Makurdi, turning his back on the people whose tears and blood still stain the soil. Now again, he is in Plateau State, not to console the bereaved or reassure the broken, but to celebrate and make merry with his party elite while the people mourn. The message could not be clearer: this is a President who would rather feast than feel—a leader who finds pleasure where the people find pain. The Nigerian people are watching, and they will remember. -AA

Will you contest for office, not because you crave a title, but because you believe you have something better to offer? Will you help build the ADC into a political party that is rooted in the people, disciplined in organisation, democratic in character and genuinely open to a new generation? I am asking you to say: This is my country. This is my future. This is my responsibility. I will not outsource it. And if you accept that responsibility, I make you a promise: you will not walk alone. I will listen to you, answer your questions and accept your criticism because I am not asking to be your master. I am asking to be your candidate, your partner and, if Nigerians entrust me with the responsibility, your servant. LET THE RIVER RISE Let me leave you with one image. The River Niger, from which our country takes its name, does not begin as the mighty river we know. It begins small, and as it travels, other streams join it. One becomes ten, ten become hundreds, and what began quietly becomes a mighty river capable of sustaining millions.

It was with this conviction that I received our ADC candidates for various elective positions in Benue State. Their mission must be greater than winning elections. It must be about protecting lives, restoring livelihoods, reviving the Food Basket of the Nation, and making life affordable again. Tinubu removed the subsidy. Nigerians paid the price. Government got the resources. Benue should not still be paying with blood. Secure Benue. Restore the Food Basket. Make Nigeria affordable again. -AA

7. Promote responsible resource control with national balance. States will have greater control over natural resources within their territories, while contributing fairly to the federation through taxes and royalties. This will drive local development while preserving national cohesion. Details: ● Amend relevant laws, including the Petroleum Act, Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act, Land Use Act, and Petroleum Profit Tax Act, to enable states to manage and benefit more directly from their natural resources ● Require states to remit agreed taxes or royalties to the federal government to maintain national balance and shared responsibility ● Encourage states to develop resource-based industries, including processing and value addition, rather than relying solely on extraction ● Establish clear regulatory frameworks to ensure environmental protection, transparency, and accountability in resource management 8. Promote the inclusion of women, youths, and persons with disabilities in governance. We will ensure that vulnerable and underrepresented groups are meaningfully included in political appointments, decision-making processes, and elective offices, with clear policies and institutional support to make inclusion a reality, not just a promise.
