Ask Atiku Abubakar — Official Citizen Engagement Platform

If you become President of Nigeria, what specific actions will you take within your first 100 days to ease the burden on ordinary Nigerians, and what measurable commitments can we hold you accountable for if those promises are not fulfilled? Nigerians don’t just need promises. We need a clear pla

Nigerians don't just want promises, they want a plan they can measure, and that is exactly what I am offering.

On security, I will begin, from day one, the reform of our security institutions, with improved funding and enhanced welfare, including a Special Presidential Welfare Initiative for security personnel. Alongside this, I will use diplomacy, intelligence, better border control, our traditional institutions, and good neighbourliness to resolve conflict, rather than relying on force alone.

On jobs, I will launch an Economic Stimulus Fund with an initial investment capacity of approximately $10 billion to support small businesses across every sector of our economy. I will also launch a skills-to-job programme for every category of young person, graduates, early school leavers, and those currently not in education, employment, or training. Alongside this, I have spoken of a financing programme for start-ups and entrepreneurs, to move young Nigerians from dependence to enterprise, from unemployment to productivity, and from palliatives to prosperity.

On the cost of living, I will pursue a targeted production subsidy for fuel refined here in Nigeria, rather than going back to an open-ended subsidy on imported fuel. This will support Nigerian refining, create Nigerian jobs, cut waste, and make sure government support delivers a measurable benefit to you, the consumer. My objective is clear: lower the cost of energy, lower transportation and production costs, strengthen what Nigeria produces, and restore your purchasing power. That is how I will give families breathing room again.

On poverty, my policy expands cash transfers to poor households, tied to school attendance and child vaccination, alongside a revitalised national school feeding scheme.

And because I believe Nigerians deserve more than promises, my administration will launch an online Promise Tracker, publishing live budget spending, contract awards, and performance results, so you can see for yourself whether these commitments are being kept, and hold my government accountable.
