Ask Atiku Abubakar — Pẹpẹ Oníbàárà Ìjọba fún Ìbánisọ̀rọ̀ pẹ̀lú Aráàlú

Ṣé o máa ṣe àtúnṣe ètò ọrọ̀ ajé náà láàrin ọjọ́ kan?

On the economy, I have set out what must be done to put Nigeria back on a path of sustainable growth. I am determined to pause and reflect, because government must first understand what reforms are needed and in what sequence, with a clear framework stating our reform objectives and strategies. I will also undertake a comprehensive review of the budget within that new reform framework, so that it is designed to address the structural defects of our economy and the cost-of-living crisis, and to create prosperity and opportunities for our young people to lead productive lives.

Beyond that, I am committed to building an economy that benefits all Nigerians. This means addressing our energy crisis, because electricity is a minimum requirement for industrialisation, whether in the factory or on the farm, for big business and for small businesses alike. We shall remove the bottlenecks limiting investment across our economy, to attract local and foreign investment that creates jobs and meaningful growth. And we shall provide incentives where necessary to promote investment and job creation.
