Ask Atiku Abubakar — Official Citizen Engagement Platform

Were you ever found guilty of taking a bribe in that arbitration case people talk about?

No. The International Arbitration Tribunal looked at the evidence and did not find any reason to call me to testify under oath, because I was not involved at all. The N500,000 that is often mentioned was never described as a bribe, not even by Mr. Leno Akinsanya who sent it. That transfer had nothing to do with the bid in question.

In any case, the International Arbitration Tribunal reviewed the evidence before it and did not find merit in calling me to take a stand under oath during its proceedings. That is because I was not involved at all. The N500,000 being mentioned was not quoted as being a bribe. Mr. Leno Akinsanya who sent it, did not call it a bribe. The transfer had absolutely nothing to do with the bid by Akinsanya. Q1: I am a graduate, and I have been unemployed for years. What will your government do to create jobs for graduates and young Nigerians? Answer: My policy focuses on private-sector-led growth targeting up to 3 million jobs annually.
