What traditional titles have you been given?
I was appointed Turaki Adamawa in 1982. Over the years, traditional institutions across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones have also honoured me with numerous chieftaincy titles. These include Zege Mule U Tiv, conferred by the Tiv Nation in 2001; Sardauna of Ganye; Maiyedero of Lagos; Ekwueme of Anambra; Atayese of Ijeshaland; Zanna Zantaelma of Borno; Zanna Kawaskima of Yobe; Shettima of Biu; Suka of Ogoniland; Baagbile of Oke Ona Egba, Egbaland; Omekaojuora of Igbuzo; Otun Balogun of Mopaland; Nwanne Di na Mba of Ngor-Okpala; and Enyioha Ndigbo.
In June 2017, I was elevated to Waziri Adamawa. The title of Turaki Adamawa, which I had held since 1982, was subsequently conferred on my son, Aliyu.
