Ask Atiku Abubakar — Official Citizen Engagement Platform

How will money be shared between the federal government and the states?

I'll reform revenue-sharing so states get a greater share of national resources, with stronger incentives to grow their own economies, expanding the derivation principle to cover solid minerals and hydropower, so producing states benefit more directly from their land. Alongside this, I'll pursue a stronger fiscal federal structure and devolve key powers to states, rebalancing Nigeria's federal system while preserving national unity.
