I will remove direct executive control over the appointment of electoral officers so our elections have independence, credibility, and public trust. This means setting up an independent, multi-stakeholder selection process that involves the judiciary, civil society, and professional bodies. I will also provide secure tenure for appointed officials, so they are protected from political pressure or arbitrary removal.
