Ask Atiku Abubakar — Official Citizen Engagement Platform

What is your plan for policing in Nigeria?

I will build a federal, state, and community-based policing system, with clear jurisdictions and national standards that apply to all. States will have operational control over policing within a nationally regulated framework, so governors can truly act as Chief Security Officers. I will clarify the roles of federal, state, and local security actors to end overlaps, and strengthen community-based security structures for better intelligence and faster response at the grassroots. National oversight will keep standards high and prevent abuse.
