What do you want done about the deaths of the detainees?
I want a full and honest inquiry. It must establish when the detainees first showed signs of distress, who was told, what medical help was given, and the exact cause of every death, including what Dele Alake and Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo knew and did. All records, logs, medical reports and footage must be secured now, with independent autopsies and the families represented. The findings must be made public, and anyone responsible must face the law, whatever their rank. A government-controlled inquiry meant only to calm anger would be a cover-up, not accountability.

“All detention registers, operational records, communication logs, medical reports, photographs and available surveillance footage must be secured immediately. Independent autopsies must be conducted, the victims’ families must be represented and all evidence must be protected from alteration, disappearance or destruction.
“The findings must be made public, and anyone found responsible must face the full weight of the law, regardless of uniform, rank or political connection. A government-controlled inquiry designed to contain public anger and clear government officials would be nothing more than a cover-up masquerading as accountability.
