Q9: My community has no reliable source of clean drinking water, and some families walk long distances or buy water every day. How will you provide sustainable clean water to communities like ours? Answer: My administration will launch a National Rural Water Supply Initiative, collaborating with state and local governments to drill solar-powered motorized boreholes and construct community water treatment plants. Q10: The water we drink and fish from is contaminated. What will you do to provide safe water and prevent people, especially children, from becoming sick? Answer: M policy strengthens water quality enforcement agencies, strictly penalizes industrial waste dumping in rivers, and distributes community point-of-use water purification systems to curb waterborne illnesses. Q11: Our community has poor drainage and waste disposal. What will you do to improve sanitation and prevent flooding and disease?

Answer: My strategy is to build master drainage systems in flood-prone areas, modernize municipal solid waste recycling, and channel Ecological Fund resources directly into local erosion control and sanitation programmes. Q12: Many communities depend on wells that dry up during the dry season. What is your plan for sustainable year-round water supply, particularly in rural areas? Answer: My administration will focus on deep-aquifer drilling, rainwater harvesting infrastructure, and small earth dams to store water for year-round domestic and agricultural use. Q13: We don't have reliable electricity in our community despite having poles and repeated promises. How will you make sure electricity actually reaches underserved communities? Answer: My plan is to move power distribution and generation off the exclusive federal list, empowering states and off-grid developers to directly connect and supply electricity to underserved areas.

Q15: Many rural communities are far from the national grid. What role will solar, mini-grids and other alternative energy sources play in providing them with electricity? Answer: I would make solar mini-grids that will serve as the primary power source for off-grid communities, supported by zero import tariffs on solar components and capital subsidies for renewable energy providers. Q16: Nigeria has invested in many power projects but electricity remains unreliable. What will you do differently, and how will you ensure abandoned or delayed electricity projects are completed? Answer: My administration will audit all stalled power projects, convert viable uncompleted assets into public-private concessions, and enforce strict anti-corruption oversight on all energy contracts. Q17: Bad rural roads prevent people from reaching farms, markets, schools and hospitals, especially during the rainy season. How will you improve rural roads and connectivity? Answer: I plan to expand the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) using matching federal-state funds to pave critical farm-to-market feeder roads.

Q44: Oil spills and pollution have destroyed farms, fishing and livelihoods in Niger Delta communities. How will you clean up affected areas, compensate communities and hold responsible oil companies accountable? Answer: My administration will accelerate the Ogoni cleanup, strictly enforce environmental restoration across all oil-producing areas, and apply strict "polluter pays" legal liabilities to non- compliant oil majors. Q45: Flooding and erosion are destroying farms, roads and homes in many communities. What is your national plan for managing these environmental and climate-related risks? Answer: My plan executes a National Flood and Erosion Management Plan that dredges the River Niger and River Benue, manages dam releases systematically, and directs the Ecological Fund straight to vulnerable communities. Q46: Illegal mining is polluting rivers and destroying farmland.

The planned exit of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) from Nigeria after more than five decades of doing business in Nigeria underscores how horrific the environment has become for both local and foreign businesses. Sadly, many international firms have, in recent times, sold their assets and bid farewell to Nigeria after several years of operating in our country. These exits have led to further loss of jobs in an environment that is already bleeding jobs. We need to do a lot more not only to encourage investors to make Nigeria their preferred destination but also to encourage companies already operating in our land not to "japa." To this end, we must revamp our infrastructure, endeavour to enthrone a sustainable regime of energy security and retool our fiscal and monetary policy. -AA The planned exit of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) from Nigeria after more than five decades of doing business in Nigeria underscores how horrific the environment has become for both local and foreign businesses. I dream of a Nigeria where no child is denied an education because of poverty. I dream of a Nigeria where every graduate can aspire to meaningful employment or build a successful business without being suffocated by poor policies. I dream of a Nigeria where electricity powers factories instead of generators, where businesses grow instead of merely struggling to survive, and where innovation is rewarded instead of frustrated. I dream of a Nigeria where our farmers cultivate their land without fear, where our communities are secure, and where no parent goes to bed wondering whether their child will return safely from school. I dream of a Nigeria where technology becomes a gateway to prosperity, where artificial intelligence, innovation and entrepreneurship create millions of new opportunities for our young people instead of forcing them to search for greener pastures abroad. I dream of a Nigeria where talent matters more than tribe.
