As we look ahead, let us harness our collective strength to engage all segments of society —governments, businesses, and communities —advocating for actionable solutions that uplift our most vulnerable citizens. In the years to come, I am confident that Nigerians will build upon the foundation laid by Her Excellency Titi and the compassionate individuals dedicated to WOTCLEF’s mission.
Let us ensure that no child is denied an education and that no woman suffers through trafficking and exploitation in silence. Let us eliminate the shadows of trafficking and exploitation from our society. Let us unite in purpose and action. Together, we can forge a future where dignity, justice, and hope triumph for every Nigerian.
Thank you for being part of this celebration, and for your dedication to this noble cause. Together, let us continue the fight, empowering our citizens and building the society we dreamed of.

It is my fervent prayer that 2025 will usher in a fresh dawn, sweeping away the years of national hardships that have hindered our country’s growth. I particularly pray for a revitalization of our national economy so that we may breathe freely once more, liberated from the suffocating grip of economic hardship.
As we celebrate the divine favor that allows us to witness this New Year, let us not forget our fellow Nigerians who were not so fortunate—those whose lives were claimed by the relentless storms of daily hardships. Their struggles remind us of the urgent work that lies ahead.
With hope in my heart and faith in our collective strength, I wish you all a prosperous New Year filled with boundless blessings and success in all our endeavors. Together, let us build a safer, stronger, and more unified nation. -AA

Earlier today, I led a delegation to condole with the family, the people, and the government of Kano over the loss of Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
Shortly after visiting the Dantata family, I proceeded to the Government House Kano and was received by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
I expressed sadness over the loss of Alhaji Aminu Danatata. I reminded that as a renowned global entrepreneur, Dantata's demise is not a loss only to the family and the people of Kano, but Nigeria and the world at large.
I prayed Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus and give the family, the government and people of Kano the fortitude to bear the loss.
Governor Abba Kabir expressed happiness at my visit, while using the occasion to thank me for sending a delegation to Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral prayers and burial of the legendary businessman.
He reiterated the huge contributions of late Aminu Dantata to the development and growth of the economy of Kano in particular, especially in education and healthcare, saying the loss has left a vacuum, difficult to fill. -AA

Governments come and go; history remains.
I therefore call on all patriotic Nigerians to engage, mobilize, persuade, and organize. Prepare to vote, and to defend your votes in 2027.
Let us vote out hunger, insecurity, unemployment, dishonesty, corruption, abductions, lies, and propaganda.
Nigeria deserves better. Nigerians deserve dignity.
2026 is the year to till the soil. 2027 is the year of harvest. It is too late to turn back. Let us rise, organize, and reclaim our country. —AA

I was at the National Mosque, Abuja, earlier today, where I joined the congregation in prayers for our fallen heroes as the nation prepares to mark the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
Our prayers shall continue to be with the families of members of our Armed Forces who paid the supreme price to make our nation safer.
In these solemn moments, we remember that sacrifice with deep appreciation. Indeed, the role our Armed Forces played and continue to play in keeping our nation safe and safeguarding the territorial integrity of our dear country cannot be overemphasised.
We remain eternally grateful. May their service to the nation and the sacrifices they made never be in vain.
I also had the pleasure of attending the wedding fatiha of the daughter of my late friend, the Ex CG of Customs, Alhaji Ahmed Hamma Kojoli, at the same venue.
I congratulate the couple and wish them a happy home. -AA

The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today at the National Secretariat of our great party, the African Democratic Congress.
This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal, and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair. I call on all Nigerians, regardless of region, faith, or background, to join us in this noble cause. Together, we will restore the promise of our nation and bring good times back again. -AA

But I cannot achieve that vision alone.
No President, no matter how determined, can rebuild Nigeria without the active participation of its greatest asset—its young people.
That brings me to the central message of my address today:
The role of young Nigerians in building a new democratic Nigeria.
The current political establishment often looks at young Nigerians and sees a restless population to be managed, manipulated or mobilised only during elections.
I see something entirely different.
I see the greatest national asset Nigeria has ever produced.
I see innovators building world-class businesses from laptops and mobile phones. I see young farmers feeding communities despite enormous odds. I see creators, engineers, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, artisans and professionals proving every day that the Nigerian spirit cannot be defeated.
Unfortunately, I also see enormous talent trapped by poor leadership.

Become the generation that builds it.
Do not merely criticise bad leadership.
Prepare yourselves to provide good leadership.
Do not merely ask what Nigeria can become.
Ask what history will say about your generation.
History presents every generation with a defining moment.
This is yours.
Years from now, your children will ask where you stood when Nigeria stood at the crossroads.
They will ask whether you accepted hopelessness as your destiny.
Whether you watched from the sidelines while others decided your future.
Or whether you stood up peacefully, organised responsibly, voted courageously, and helped change the course of your nation.
My generation has carried the baton this far.
Today, with confidence and hope, I place that baton in your hands.
Carry it with courage.
Carry it with discipline.
Carry it with integrity.
Carry it with patriotism.
Build a Nigeria where talent triumphs over tribe.

Where competence triumphs over connections.
Where justice triumphs over injustice.
Where hope triumphs over despair.
Where every child can dream without fear.
Where every young person can succeed through hard work.
Where every citizen can once again believe that government exists to serve the people.
The task before us is great.
But the Nigerian spirit is greater.
The road ahead may not be easy.
But no great nation was ever built by people who surrendered to despair.
My dear young Nigerians, the future is not something we inherit.
The future is something we build.
Let history record that when Nigeria called, your generation answered.
Let history remember that when democracy was tested, your generation defended it.
Let history remember that when hope seemed to fade, your generation restored it.
And let history remember that together, we rebuilt the promise of Nigeria.
Nigeria does not need another miracle.

Nigeria needs courageous leadership, active citizenship, and a generation determined to make this nation work.
I believe that generation is here.
I believe that generation is you.
Together, let us rise.
Together, let us rebuild.
Together, let us renew the promise of our great nation.
Thank you.
God bless the Riseup Naija Movement.
God bless the Nigerian youth.
And God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. -AA

I have therefore not come here simply to speak about your frustrations. You know those frustrations better than I do because you live with them every day. I have come to offer you a partnership to change the conditions that created them and to ask you to become active participants in building the Nigeria you deserve.
THE NIGERIA YOUR GENERATION KNOWS
Let us speak plainly. The Nigeria many young people experience today is very different from the Nigeria they were promised. You were taught that if you worked hard, obtained an education, obeyed the law and applied yourselves diligently, opportunity would follow.
Many of you did exactly that. You studied through strikes and blackouts, only to graduate into an economy where a university degree does not guarantee a job and where even those fortunate enough to find work increasingly struggle to afford food, transportation and rent.
You have watched talented friends and classmates - doctors, engineers, accountants, software developers and other professionals - pack their bags for Canada, the United Kingdom, America and elsewhere in search of opportunities their own country should be capable of providing.

“We will know how many barrels receive support, which refinery receives them, what is produced, what it costs the taxpayer and what benefit Nigerians receive. “No mystery barrels. No endless claims. No blank cheques.”
Atiku said Nigeria’s refining future would depend heavily on private capital and that the commercial viability of domestic refineries must therefore be protected. “Dangote Refinery, modular refineries and other Nigerian investments must remain viable. We want more refineries, more investment, more competition and more refining capacity. “But the Nigerian consumer must also benefit from the fact that this country produces crude oil. “We reject the false choice between a profitable refinery and an affordable pump price.

TINUBU’S THIRD STRAIGHT UNGA ABSENCE: NIGERIA MUST NOT PAY FOR HIS AMERICAN BAGGAGE — ATIKU
A seat was reportedly secured for Bola near United States President Donald Trump at the world’s most important annual diplomatic gathering. Yet, for the third consecutive year, Tinubu refused to occupy it.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has demanded a full explanation from President Tinubu over his repeated absence from the United Nations General Assembly, asking whether the President’s documented history with United States law-enforcement agencies has become a burden on Nigeria’s foreign relations.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said Tinubu stayed away from the 79th UNGA session in 2024, the 80th in 2025 and now the 81st in 2026, repeatedly sending Vice President Kashim Shettima to stand in for him.
He said three consecutive absences could no longer be dismissed as coincidence or routine delegation but constituted a pattern of presidential evasion requiring an honest explanation.

Atiku described as extraordinary the reported announcement by Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Jimoh Ibrahim, that he had secured Tinubu a seat “not too far from where the US President, Donald Trump, will be seated.”
“The seat was secured, but the President disappeared,” Atiku said.
“If proximity to President Trump was considered such a diplomatic achievement, why did Tinubu abandon the opportunity and send his deputy? Why celebrate securing a strategic seat for the President when the President had no intention of occupying it?
“That contradiction becomes even more scandalous when Nigerians remember that Tinubu’s administration committed up to $9 million of Nigeria’s scarce foreign exchange to American lobbyists supposedly hired to improve its standing before the government and people of the United States.
“What exactly did Nigerians purchase with that money? Why spend millions of dollars lobbying Washington while Tinubu repeatedly stays away from New York? Why hire lobbyists to speak for Nigeria in America when the Nigerian President cannot summon the courage to appear at the world’s biggest diplomatic gathering on American soil?
