On insecurity, my plan covers every part of Nigeria, Sokoto included. I will set up Anti-Banditry and Kidnapping Special Units in every state command, made up of highly trained, mobile personnel. I will adopt a firehose principle for security coordination, driving continuous, high-volume coordination across jurisdictions so we get faster responses and stronger intelligence sharing. Bordering states will jointly plan operations, share intelligence in real time, and coordinate responses together. I will also push for an independent Internal Affairs Agency to investigate misconduct within police and other security services. I have said this is how we rescue communities from banditry, kidnapping, and cross-border crime. I have also said that President Tinubu needs to rejig the nation's security architecture as a matter of priority, because what is currently in place is not serving the needs of the people.
On hardship and jobs, my commitment is to restore purchasing power, reduce the cost of living and deliberately expand opportunities for young Nigerians. This includes a financing programme for start-ups and entrepreneurs. I will expand transparent access to finance for young entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers, technology founders and people working in the creative economy, so that a person's surname, political connection or ability to find a godfather does not determine whether a good idea gets a chance to succeed. I have said our objective is simple: move young Nigerians from dependence to enterprise, from unemployment to productivity, and from palliatives to prosperity. On education, I have said schools must place greater emphasis on science, technology, vocational education, agriculture, digital skills, critical thinking and entrepreneurship, and that no brilliant Nigerian child should be denied university, polytechnic or college education simply because their parents are poor.
On ensuring real change, I have said that every policy, from economic reform to security to social protection, must be measured by its impact on citizens. I have said Nigeria's challenges are structural and require coordinated, institutional solutions, not ad hoc interventions. I have also said that reform must be sequenced, supported, and humane, so that Nigerians are not pushed further into hardship in the process. I have said that development does not come through miracles, but through choices: good policies, competent leadership, strong institutions and citizens who insist on standards.
