How will you make housing more affordable for ordinary Nigerians?
I will drive a national housing programme that brings together states, the federal government, and private developers. States will provide land through transparent allocation, the federal government will support infrastructure like roads, power, and water, and private developers will build housing at scale, with at least 30% set aside as affordable housing. By sharing infrastructure costs between government and private companies, we bring down the cost of development. I am also committed to giving you practical access to low-interest mortgages.

1. Drive a national housing expansion and homeownership programme through federal, state, and private sector collaboration. We will adopt a coordinated model where states provide land, the federal government supports infrastructure, and the private sector delivers housing at scale, ensuring affordability and sustainability ● Provide federal support to states that key into the ADC's housing programme, including funding for roads, power, water, and other core infrastructure ● Require participating states to make land available for housing development through transparent and efficient allocation systems ● Partner with private developers to build large-scale housing projects, with a minimum of 30% dedicated to affordable housing ● Reduce the cost of development by sharing infrastructure responsibilities between government and the private sector ● Provide practical access to low-interest mortgages for Nigerians
