peeji 5 Introduction Atiku Abubakar: Answers to questions from the public 2026-10-02 ›
Q26: We have lived in IDP camps for years and want to return home. How will you make our communities safe enough for us to return and rebuild our homes and lives? Answer: Security forces will clear and secure affected regions, establishing permanent Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) and civil protection posts before organized civilian resettlement begins. Q27: Displaced families have lost farms, livelihoods and children's education. What support will you provide to help them restart their lives? Answer: Returning families will receive rebuilding grants, basic household assets, starter seeds and tools, micro-loans, and immediate restoration of basic health centers and schools. Q28: How will you ensure that money, food and assistance intended for IDPs actually reach displaced people rather than being diverted?

I am saddened by reports of the attack on Yargoje village in Kankara LGA of Katsina State, which claimed scores of lives and the kidnap of vulnerable women and children. It is also sad that the bandits ambushed the police armoured personnel carrier responding to the distress call at Gidan Tofa and Dan Nakwabo villages, killing four police officers and two members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps. Most worrisome to me is that these acts of banditry and terrorism have become routine, with the government seemingly helpless and nonchalant about it despite the enormous annual budget for defence. While I sympathise with the families of the victims, I will once again call on the government to be alive to its responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens. -AA https://gazettengr.com/bandits-ambushed-patrol-team-killed-20-security-agents-in-katsina-police/

I am deeply disturbed by a report from @dwnews highlighting the humanitarian tragedy in Kankara, Katsina State, where over 10,000 people have been displaced, and more than 40 villages abandoned following renewed attacks by armed groups. This grim reality is a reminder that piecemeal peace arrangements are not enough. What we need is a holistic, intelligence-driven, and sustained security strategy that protects every Nigerian community and restores dignity to those who have lost everything. My heart goes out to the displaced families who now face unimaginable hardship. I call on both the Federal and State Governments to provide urgent relief, ensure accountability, and take decisive steps to guarantee lasting peace. Nigerians cannot continue to live as refugees within their own homeland. The time for real, coordinated action is now. -AA

The attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) office in Ubima, Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State, is condemned. It is a dangerous development that efforts to weaken the opposition have now shifted to attacking its members and destroying its properties. These are not merely attacks on the opposition coalition ADC, but an assault on our democracy. The protection of the lives and properties of the opposition must, as a priority, be guaranteed by the Tinubu-led APC administration. That is the minimum expectation of Nigerians. We call for an independent investigation into the torching of the ADC secretariat in Rivers to ensure that those responsible are prosecuted in accordance with the law. Failure to do so may encourage others to inflict further violence on the lives and properties of the opposition. Meanwhile, we are still awaiting the outcome of the investigation into the attack on Mr. @PeterObi and other @ADCNig leaders last week in Benin, Edo State. -AA

I wish to remind President Bola Tinubu to keep to his words that "this (Angwan Rukuba attack) will not repeat itself." It does appear that those words are hollow because barely 72 hours, another attack in Benue State claimed over a dozen lives. The Commander-in-Chief should brace up to the challenges of governance. I am also concerned, like all well-meaning Nigerians about what is going on in a Nasarawa community where families had fled on foot amid threats of attack. And as if those are not enough, there was a fresh attack in Kaduna State at the weekend. The primary responsibility of government is the protection of lives and property and the promotion of the welfare of citizens. Enough of these hollow rhetoric, Mr. President. It is time to fold your sleeves and get to work. Meanwhile, my thoughts and prayers are with the families who may have lost a dear one in these attacks. -AA
peeji 18 1.11. URBAN DEVELOPMENT & HOUSING Party Manifesto 2027-2031 2026-10-05 ›
1. Drive a national housing expansion and homeownership programme through federal, state, and private sector collaboration. We will adopt a coordinated model where states provide land, the federal government supports infrastructure, and the private sector delivers housing at scale, ensuring affordability and sustainability ● Provide federal support to states that key into the ADC's housing programme, including funding for roads, power, water, and other core infrastructure ● Require participating states to make land available for housing development through transparent and efficient allocation systems ● Partner with private developers to build large-scale housing projects, with a minimum of 30% dedicated to affordable housing ● Reduce the cost of development by sharing infrastructure responsibilities between government and the private sector ● Provide practical access to low-interest mortgages for Nigerians
