On rising fuel costs, I have always believed the removal of the fuel subsidy was necessary, because it had become a drain that enriched middlemen. What I would prioritise is tackling corruption, starting with repositioning the NNPCL, and paying attention to our poor refining infrastructure. I would commence privatisation of state-owned refineries and work to ensure Nigeria refines at least 50% of its own crude output, with an aspiration to export 50% of that capacity to ECOWAS countries. Alongside this, I want to reduce the cost of energy itself, so it goes further in your pocket. On unemployment, I am putting in place a financing programme for start-ups and entrepreneurs, so young Nigerians can move from dependence to enterprise, from unemployment to productivity. On the high cost of education, my approach will reduce the underlying cost of education and provide forgiveness for qualifying student debts. My administration will provide non-repayable scholarships, grants and bursaries instead of forcing students into debt, while forgiving existing student loan obligations and directly reducing university tuition costs for low-income families.

On security in the north, I have said plainly that the occupation of Nigerian communities across parts of the North East, North West and North Central by bandits and terrorists, who impose levies on citizens and disrupt farming, is unacceptable. I believe that with the right political leadership, our security forces have the capacity to take on this insecurity. My plan is clear: end insecurity as part of restoring peace and economic prosperity to the country. On the cost of living, my approach is to reduce the cost of things at the source rather than let prices explode and then hand out palliatives. I will work to reduce the cost of energy so your salary buys more, reduce transport costs so less of your wage disappears just getting to work, and reduce the cost of moving food so your family spends less in the market. Under my Economic Recovery Plan, support for Nigerian crude used in domestic refining would be capped, transparently budgeted and independently audited, with a clear obligation that the benefit reaches you at the pump, not just the refinery or marketer. My aim is to make the naira in your pocket worth more and make daily living affordable again.

On reforms to improve education quality and create jobs for young graduates, I will overhaul technical and vocational education and training curricula in partnership with industry leaders so they match real job market requirements. This means establishing modern vocational training hubs across all geopolitical zones, launching dual-apprenticeship programmes, and standardizing national skill certifications. I am also committed to declaring a state of emergency in technical and vocational education, expanding skills training centres and aligning them with industry needs, providing student loans and financing support so young Nigerians can access this training, and integrating vocational training into secondary education to create multiple pathways for learning and employment. Within the first 100 days, I will declare a national emergency on out-of-school children and convene a National Education Summit to develop and implement a clear action plan. Alongside this, I am determined to expand transparent access to finance for young entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers, technology founders and people in the creative economy, and to put in place a financing programme for start-ups and entrepreneurs, so young Nigerians can move from dependence to enterprise, from unemployment to productivity.
