I hear you, and I understand how painful this must be. To be offered a job, to see your name shortlisted in the newspapers, and then to find yourself pushed aside for someone else, that is a betrayal of trust that no young Nigerian should have to go through.

I served in the Nigeria Customs Service myself, from 1969 to 1986, so I know that service from the inside. I know what it should stand for: discipline, fairness and merit. What you are describing, where connections or political patronage can override a fair process and leave qualified young people jobless, is exactly the kind of thing I am determined to end. I want a Nigeria where your character and hard work determine your future, not who you know or who you can reach.

That is the direction I am committed to taking this country: competence over connections, merit over godfatherism, and opportunity built on fairness. Every young Nigerian deserves a process they can trust, and a government that keeps its word.
